The Scottish weather can be so changeable at any time of year, it is not uncommon to have four seasons in one day (sometimes in an hour!!!) That being said, we Scots do tend to play on this and in reality, we have our fair share of good weather. The Scottish Highlands is a Majestic place and whatever the weather, the scenery can be breathtaking - with no better way to experience this than by bike. To help you get ready for our tours, whether one-day or seven, here's a list of suggested clothing to pack. Do not worry if you forget something, as all our cycle leaders are equipped to look after you, carrying extra items on every trip.
Suggested Clothing - Padded cycle shorts, long-legged cycle tights or similar, base layer long sleeve top, mid layer cycle jersey, waterproof jacket, socks, stiff sole trainers/cycle shoes, hat for under cycle helmet, sunglasses (yes, sunglasses), cycle gloves, cycle helmet and a light fleece jacket.
Additional suggestion - A small daysack which can be used to carry your clothing not being worn, camera and a midge net. (More on the midge another time!)
All our accommodation comes with washing and drying facilities at no extra cost, so no need to bring too much kit.
Your cycle leader will carry waterproof capes, some spare clothing, tool kit, spare inner tubes and an assortment of other articles. And don't forget, all our tours are supported by a support vehicle.
